Toscano Law Group is pleased to announce the addition of Kelly Cournoyer, Esq. as an associate attorney. Cournoyer will handle divorce and custody and state criminal cases. Cournoyer is a former prosecutor in New York, and she holds a bar license in both New York and Virginia.
“Kelly has hit the ground running since her hiring in early February,” said Diane Toscano, firm founder. “As a former prosecutor who also has a passion for family law, Kelly is a well-rounded, talented, and confident trial lawyer who has made an immediate positive impact on the firm.”
Raised in a military family that moved to stations on three continents, Cournoyer knows first-hand the unique challenges that military families face and the support they need to be successful.
Prior to prosecuting, Cournoyer held positions as a law clerk and intern in private firms and in state and federal government, including for the U.S. Navy JAG Corps Trial Department. Cournoyer, who is fluent in Japanese, earned a law degree at George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
“With the addition of Kelly, we’re building our vision of operating one of the most high-performing and well-rounded litigation teams in south Hampton Roads,” said Toscano.
“It’s been exciting these last few weeks to be back in the courtroom,” said Cournoyer. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Virginia Beach community, and I look forward to delivering excellent results for Toscano Law Group clients.”
